Description
Canadian. 1919. The Prince of Wales visited Canada in September 1919 and raised his flag at Parliament on Labour Day. A new flag was commissioned for the Prince's trip to which the Prince said "I hope every City and District will win my flag". This became part of the poster campaign for Victory Loans, encouraging all cities/districts to raise the most money in order to win the flag. Artist/creator unknown. Marked, "W.P. 9.", at lower left.
Condition
Very good to excellent restored condition and canvas backed. Two closed tears 2" apart extending from center upper edge about one inch down. Vibrant colour. Restoration to closed tears along the right edge.
