Description
Canadian. 1944. A propaganda poster by Harry Mayerovitch, showing several red arrows pointing towards Germany on a map of Europe. It's message was to bring a sense of urgency to Canadian's decision for a cross-channel invasion in preparation for D-Day. A vibrand, hard-to-find poster that uses great colors and contrast to depict urgency. Marked, "Imprime Au Canada", at lower left. Marked, "Publié Par La Commission D'Information En Temps De Guerre -Réalisé Par L'Office National Du Film", at lower edge. Marked, "WIB-8F", at lower right. Signed, by artist "Mayo", at top right.
Condition
Overall very good condition. Factory fold marks with restoration at creases. Two pinhole mounting perforations to upper edge. One puncture along upper white border. Minor edge creases and wear. Closed-edge tears along the right edge have been reinforced with tape.
