Description
Brantford, Ontario. 1856-1857. A very nice handled preserve jar with large and elaborate cobalt flower was produced during the brief partnership between Justus Morton and businessman Adolphus Bennett, in the early period of the important Brantford stoneware factory. Stamped, "Morton & Bennett / Brantford. C.W. / 2".
Condition
A series of tight cracks front/centre and left side mid-section. Shallow chipping right lug handle. One shallow flake left lug handle.
Medium
Salt-glazed stoneware.
