British. Early 1900s. Swan, Hunter, and Wigham Richardson were three powerful shipbuilding families for some of the greatest ships of the 20th century, including the RMS Carpathia, which rescued survivors from the RMS Titanic. They were based in Newcastle-on-Tyne, England. This plaque features Neptune, the Roman god of freshwater and the sea, very befitting a shipbuilding company.
