Description
American. 1900s. John. A. Roebling was a civil engineer who designed and built suspension bridges including the Brooklyn Bridge. A Steel Great Lakes bulk freight barge was named after him for which this bell was made. It was built at West Bay City MI by F. W. Wheeler & Co., Hull 126 and launched Aug 13, 1898.
Condition
Polished. Displayed on later manufactured harp and base.
Medium
Cast brass on later-made stand.
