Description
Canadian. Likely 1930s or 1940s. The larger plates are marked "Peterboro" on the reverse. Peterboro and Peterborough, Ontario have been used interchangeably since the early 1800s. There is no definitive year in which we can determine when an official change occurred and both formats are still used. Judging by the style of the "PUSH" lettering, it is assumed this set is from the 1930s or 1940s. The smaller plates are unmarked and age unknown. Marked "Peterboro" on the rear of each plate of larger set.
Condition
All plates are polished. One of the larger plates is made with a hole to allow for a key escutcheon (or keyhole cover).
Medium
Brass.
