Description
British. C. 1937. An interesting piece. King Edward VIII was King only until December 10, 1936, when he abdicated the throne. His coronation was to occur on May 12, 1937. This piece was created by W. Oosterhoff in anticipation of the coronation. A very rare piece as many of the items created for the never-to-be-held coronation were taken off the market and destroyed. Marked, "W. Oosterhoff SC Copyright. Res.", at lower right of plaque.
Medium
Copper.
