Canadian. 1941-1942. Artist was Eric Aldwinckle (1909-1980). Propaganda posters were often created to inspire, inform and persuade the public. Canadian posters often had simple but powerful and direct messages, such as this one which encourage support for the war effort. This poster was issued by the Director of Public Information, Ottawa, under authority of the Minister of National War Services. Issuer's mark on lower border with printers mark ("DPI" - Director of Public Information) named in lower center. Marked "1E-2" at lower left. Signed by the artist at lower right beneath the word "War".
Condition
Edge wear and tears particularly in the upper half. Some toning and discolouration at upper edge.
