German. 1950S. The toy is marked "U.S.-Zone Germany". Post-war German manufacturers were banned from exporting goods. Americans occupying the territories permitted the sale and export of toys so long as they were marked "Made in U.S. Zone Germany". This marking was used from the mid to late 1940s with underside stock often continuing into the 1950s. Marked on box, rear license plate, and underside of car. Marked, "Made in U.S.-Zone Germany", on underside.
