Marshalltown, Nova Scotia. Late 1950s. This early and unusual Maud Lewis harbour scene features colourful dwellings and fishing boats in harmony as gulls enjoy their Maritime playground. The harbour depicted was likely close to Maud's home. Signed "Lewis" at lower right.
Condition
In overall very good condition. There are two spots of yellow staining (possibly adhesive) above each dwelling in the background. Minor flaking at the lower left corner. Some wear to the upper left corner.

Mixed media on pulpboard (beaver board).

Purchased directly from the artist by a descendent of the owner.
