Description
Stonehurst, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia. 1980 It is becoming increasingly difficult to find any available work by Nova Scotia artist Charlie Tanner. Once you have seen one of his human figures you can spot them from across the room, they are so distinctive. Charlie Tanner (1904 -1982) was a fisherman for most of his life, but became a folk artist in the 1970’s. He quickly became known for his wonderful carvings of people in all of life’s situations. His work is in many museums and private collections. Signed on the bottom of the base "Charles Tanner Eagle Head N.S. 1980 ". Charles Tanner Eagle Head N.S. 1980 signed on bottom of base.
