St-Etienne-des-Gres, Quebec. C. 1980. Leonard Croteau was a master carver with a very strong colour sense. as illustrated here with this very accurately detailed and painted sculpture of a black-faced sheep with black ears, legs and hooves. Signed "Leonard Croteau" on underside of belly.
