Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, Quebec. Mid-20th century. This sympathetic depiction of an old habitant couple manages to express their age, weariness and their dignity. These are an early pair of carvings by Paul Emile Caron, ( 1915-1987) a highly regarded carver from St.-Jean-Port-Joli, Quebec.
