Cacouna, Quebec. Late 20th century. Levesque, an artist from Cacouna, Quebec, created painted carvings of birds, animals and people in everyday situations. His style was considered primitive. This pair of comical/ferocious female pigs is unsigned, as was most of his work, yet easily recognizable as the work of Felicien Levesque. His work is honest, direct, very powerful and often exaggerated.
