Cacouna, Quebec. C. 1980. Levesque, an artist from Cacaouna, Quebec, created painted carvings of birds, animals and people in everyday situations. His style was considered primitive. His work is honest, direct, very powerful and often exaggerated as illustrated in this horse or is it a goat? The pieces are unsigned, as was most of his work, yet easily recognizable as the work of Felicien Levesque.
