Description
A Lake St. Clair Canvasback decoy by Frederick Alexander Dolson (1868-1947), Kent County, having a classic sloped head and humped back, hot branded on the bottom with a stylized "F.A.D.". A label on the bottom identifies it as part of a 1919 decoy rig.
Condition
Significant age crack through the back to the bottom that appears to have been present when the decoy was made, otherwise excellent condition with strong original paint.
Provenance
From the Kathryn and late David Richardson Collection.
