Quebec. Mid 20th century. A carving of a quintessential French-Canadian trader signed by George Beauregard of Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, Quebec. Beauregard made wood carvings in the flat-plane tradition of his region. He learned carving in the studio of Gerard Fortin and later took over his studio. Signed, "Georges Beauregard, Quebec".
