Description
Madoc, Hastings County, Ontario. C. 1975. An imaginary carved bug-like creature attributed to George Cockayne and very much his style, stands on three lime-green peg legs, with a tail and head with two mouths or claws in rusty red. The creature has metal pin eyes. Cockayne loved painting these wonderful and unusual creatures. This piece is unsigned. His work is found in the collections of the Canadian Museum of History, and in many corporate and private art collections.
Condition
Very good condition. Minor shrinkage cracks.
