Description
Brantford, Ontario. C. 1980. Joe Lloyd presents a carving of a maple sugaring scene using pieces of natural branches for the trees. Two men clad in dark brown and green shirts and blue pants stand on either side of a horse-drawn sled with two large silver containers of maple sap. The scene is reminiscent of "sugaring off" every spring across Eastern Canada. The piece sits on a plain board. Signed, "J. Lloyd, Brantford", on top of base.
