Description
Canadian; likely Western Ontario. 1850s (jug), 1870s (pot). Two pleasing pieces of redware: the form of the semi-ovoid jug is consistent with early Western Ontario Germanic potters.
Condition
When viewing the jug from the front, a chip can be seen on the right side of the upper portion and another along the edge of the handle. A few small chips exist on the underside of the base. A very small tight hairline crack is evident around the base of the handle. Other than a few very small and minor chips along the inner and outer rim edges, the pot is in very good condition.
Medium
Redware.
Provenance
From the June and late David Chambers Collection.
