Southwestern Ontario, C. 1860. Mid 19th century. Well-crafted small-size blanket box in the original mahogany paint-grained finish with a dovetailed case and applied bracket base. The lid has half-round trim. The chest retains its original till, cast iron lock, key, and hinges. Cast iron carrying handles were added later to each side.

Original condition with minor paint wear.
