Description
Algonquin cradleboard with the backboard having a cut-out shamrock and a scalloped top edge. The cloth bag appears to be original and retains several decorative embroidered tongues along the bottom edge and the original babiche lacing. The pine board is splined for added strength. In old green paint over an earlier grey and original dark green. From Maniwaki, Quebec, late 19th century.

Porte-bébé algonquin avec un trèfle découpé et un bord supérieur festonné. Le sac en tissu semble être d’origine et conserve plusieurs languettes brodées décoratives le long du bord inférieur et du laçage de babiche d'origine. Planche de pin à onglet pour plus de résistance. Vieille peinture verte sur un gris antérieur et un vert foncé d'origine. De Maniwaki, Québec, fin du 19e siècle.
