Funky upholstered prayer bench ingeniously made from a cast-iron heater grate mounted on wooden plank legs and in original yellow paint. The supports are carved with a shell and other motifs to harmonize with the details of the scalloped iron top. Provenance: Soeurs de la Providence, Quebec, late 19th century.

Banc de prière rembourré art populaire ingénieusement fabriqué à partir d'une grille de chauffage en fonte montée sur des pattes en bois. Les pattes sont sculptées d'une coquille et d'autres motifs pour s'harmoniser avec les détails du dessus en fer chantourné. Peinture d'origine ocre. Provenance : Sœurs de la Providence, Québec, fin 19e siècle.
