Description
A rare Ile d'Orléans side chair with a Regency inspired back giving the unique "Franglais" style found only in Quebec. Created in birch with a pegged pine seat and having a molded edge on the H stretcher and chamfered legs. Early colours of deep red, ochre yellow and original blue. Illustrated in Canadian Country Furniture by Michael Bird, page 168. c1830.

Rare chaise de l’Ile d'Orléans dite de transition à dossier incurvé d'inspiration Anglaise, style unique qu'on ne retrouve qu'au Québec. En merisier, siège en pin chevillé, traverse en H à bord mouluré, pattes chanfreinées. Vieilles couleurs rouge foncé, ocre et bleu d'origine.
