Canadian or American. Ca: 1880. Walnut, marble, mirror. A spectacular Victorian era three piece bedroom suite in the Renaissance Revival style, The bed with elaborate panelled headboard centred by a central roundel carved with mask and foliage. The footbopard well elaborated with raised panels, gadrooning and pilasters with Ionic capitals. The side rails with pillow boards. With two dressing bureaus, each of different size, but with matching decorative scheme. The bureau's have hgh quality marble tops, swivelling plate glass round mirrors and original brass hardware. The larger of the two resting on brass casters. Inside bed rail is painted, "Halifax N.S. / A.G. Shatford / Halifax N.S."
