Canadian. 1951. Carnival Red. This 1951 Ford Convertible retains the original 239 C.I. Flathead V8 engine with two-barrel carburetor and a three-speed manual transmission with a Borg-Warner Overdrive. Features include deluxe radio and heater, rocker mouldings, factory signals and spotlight, front bumper guard, and backup light. Serial #0476H5136532.
Condition
This is a mostly original low-mile survivor with a straight-fitting body and excellent door alignment. Professionally repainted in Carnival Red. The interior is original. The driver's side bench seat is missing a button. All glass is original with factory stamps and date coding. The convertible top is well-worn but original, aside from the the rear window which has been professionally replaced. The top boot is original and present. The 239 C.I. V8 flathead with two-barrel carburetor is in good working order with 82,870 original miles. The underbody is in excellent condition with no evidence of rust or collision work. The car is outfitted with 205 x 75 x 16 radial tires. Mechanically, the car drives well. Steering is straight and smooth with good brake and exhaust systems. This Canadian-made Ford Custom Convertible is an excellent survivor car.
Provenance
A Canadian-built car, built in Windsor, Ontario that was shipped to an Edmonton dealer to be sold. It spent many years in Edmonton in a salt-free environment. It was finally discovered and sold to a person in Kingston, Ontario.
