Description
Canadian. 1930s. Single sided porcelain (SSP). The brand salutes Laura Secord, the Canadian War of 1812 heroine who walked 20 miles across American-occupied territory to warn British Forces of a planned American attack. Laura Secord began in 1913 as a single candy shop on Yonge Street, Toronto. Minor porcelain losses along the lower edge, each with oxidation. Metal decay at the extreme lower rear edge, left and center. One minor patch of loss along the upper edge. Originally from merchant Bert Dresser's Drug Store, 18 Talbot Street West (Telephone 18) in Leamington, Ontario. 15" x 56" x 1.25".
