Description
Canadian. 1890s. Steel construction with oak seat and rubber tires. This is a deluxe model featuring adjustable seat height. This tricycle has no markings on it. Very probably Canadian made as it was found in Ottawa. It is possible that it was made by an agricultural machinery manufacturer, possibly Peter Patterson and Bros. (see page 71-2 of 'The Ride to Modernity'). Oak backrest and seat replaced, new rubber on rear wheels. Rideable as is. From the Dr. Glen Norcliffe Collection. 28" (to back of seat height) x 38"(l) x 22"(w). 19"(dia) rear wheels.
Provenance
