Description
English. 1978. Solid resin. This is a one piece airplane model made out of solid resin – The black thick resin stand (with green velvet underneath) detaches (model rests on 2 pins) and elevates model about 6”. Model is in level flight. Challenger 600 designed and built by Canadair (first generation of this type). The prototype rolled out May 1978 with the first flight in November. The CL-600 received type certification in 1980, and only 10 or so of the type entered into service. This aircraft was the beginning of a very successful line, following up with the CL-601 and the best selling variant the CL-604 (a forerunner to Bombardier’s classical CRJ regional jet). A piece of Canadian aviation history! Made by Space Models Limited, Middlesex, England. Model Condition – Very good; paint and decals in good condition. Some wear on the “Canadair Challenger” stand lettering. Scale 1/50; Model Length 15 ½”; Model Wingspan 15”.
