Canadian. 1940s. Painted cast aluminum. Designed by famed Canadian agricultural artist and sculptor Ross Butler. This is the scaled-down cast aluminum version of Butler's Percheron plaster statue that was commissioned by Dawes Black Horse Brewery. Stamped, "Dunbar Aluminum Foundry Kitchener - Ontario", underside. Original surface exhibits touch ups to the harness and surface restoration to the base. Very minor loss to paint on tip of bridal.
