Canadian. 1880s. Single sided tin (SST). Rare. Cromptons was an early manufacturer of coraline corsets in Toronto, Ontario. Coraline was a brand new material used as an alternative to widely used whalebone in the structure of corsets. Marked" Toronto Lithographing Co. patent" lower center edge. One faint zig-zag scratch extends from the upper right edge and terminates at the "C" in Coraline. 23.5" x 17.25".
