Canadian. 20th C. Oil on panel. A well executed example of an artist that did both realistic and impressionistic works with this painting transporting the viewer to the bay. Signed 'Joachim Gauthier' lower right front and on reverse Titled, 'Rising mist - Blackfish Bay near Barry's Bay'. Also artist monogram stamp and 'McCready Galleries Toronto". Excellent. Joachim Gauthier (1897-1988) studied under Group of Seven member Franklin Carmichael and was a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts and the Ontario Society of Artists. 20.75 x 24.75".
