Canadian. 3rd quarter 19th C. Pastel on paper, retained in later wood frame. The scene depicts an Indian encampment at twin waterfalls. Unsigned. The auction label attached attributes this work to Alfred Worsley Holdstock (England, 1820-1901). Alfred Worsley Holdstock studied at Oxford and arrived in Montreal in 1850, where he taught drawing. Good condition. 19.5 x 23". Sight: 14 x 17.5". From the Marty Osler Collection. $600/900.
