Canadian Provincial. Dated 1943. A watercolour on heavy paper depicting a Canadian pioneer scene. Signed, "R V Sinclair, 1943" and titled "La Vie Frontiere" on reverse. This scene is a copy of work by Cornelius Krieghoff entitled "Early Homestead" (see Jouvancourt's 'Cornelius Krieghoff' p.97). In period or older hardwood frame with applied leaves to borders and carved diamond pattern to edges. Good condition. 19.25 x 22.25". Sight: 12" x 14.75". From the Jim Fleming Collection. $400/600.
