Swiss. c1890. In excellent cosmetic and working condition. The multi-instrument music is quite amazing to hear. "Magnificent" is not too strong a word for this large Paillard marvel! It plays 10 tunes with its' organ, drum, castanet and bells. Its' outstanding rosewood, burled wood, marquetry and mother of pearl detail is displayed perfectly with the music box sitting atop its' matching stand. An outstanding example of the cylinder music box from the late 1800s. Stamped with serial number "5831" on left side of crank and on the gear to the right of the music cylinder.
