English. 1880s. Painted steel with brass and glass components. Rear glass marker exhibits a tight hairline crack. Painted case exhibits minor losses with accompanying surface oxidation. Minor plating loss from the nickel plated components. This rare style of bicycle lamp was designed to attach to the hub of the front wheel of a high wheel bicycle.
