Description
J.J. Kenyon (1862-1937) was a photographer and painter. He attended fairs to capture images of prize-winning animals, which he later painted. He also painted many portraits of the winning horses at race tracks in New York and Kentucky. A handsome and slender horse is depicted tied safely within a stable. All loss is restricted to the lowest quarter, near the title. There are three minor triangular areas of loss above the signature as well as scuffs with loss on front of and behind the forelimbs near the hooves. Signed: "J.J. Kenyon" lower left quarter.
