This is a heavily embossed, mould-formed plastic sign featuring a horse standing in front of the stable doors. These signs are extremely fragile and rarely survive in displayable condition. The thin nature of the material allowed for high relief, three dimensional signs that were not achievable with lithographed tin or porcelain. Exhibits splits and/or material losses in the corners, top centerpoint of the sign and behind the hooves. Splits are also evident behind and around the underside of the horse as well as above and partially through its' head (behind the harness). The cardboard backing is loose. Plastic, cardboard.
