Description
This scale mechanical model represents a pocket watches detent escapement and coiled breguet style hairspring. It was executed by a student of the Canadian Horological Institute in Toronto, Ontario as a graduation requirement. Set with a silver plaque engraved "Designed & Constructed by W.L. Near / Humberstone, Ont, Sept 13, 1901". The mechanism has been serviced in 2022 and is functioning properly. The upper surface of the plate exhibits scattered patches of oxidation.
