Description
Skater's lanterns were popular among ice skating children during the Victorian era. They were manufactured with a large variety of globe colours to make it easy to differentiate them from their peer's lanterns rinkside. Stamped "Jewel" on top of heat cap. Globe exhibits a few minor flakes along the edge of the factory ground lip. The heat cap is tight to the globe and has not been removed. It has been inspected from the inside to be free of offensive chips or damage. Heat cap exhibits a moderate impression. 1890s. 11.5" H x 3" W. CODE-OILL
