A large relief carved leaf in butternut in old green paint with a beaver on a log and a red shield and banner marked "Opera House Orillia, Mar 1 1917". The Orillia Opera house was built in 1895 and was almost completely destroyed by fire in 1915. It was re-built in 1917 which this carving likely commemorates. In old dark varnished surface with the original hanger. 15.5" x 9" x 1.25". CODE-CAN
