Description
An allegorical walking stick or "Resurrection Cane" from Abitibi County, Quebec, with a classic blend of traditional Native and Christian imagery including the twisting snake, turtle, tree of life, stars, animals, fish, crucifix and a rooster. All in original patina with ball pommel and iron tip. Very good condition. Circa 1870. A virtually identical cane is in the collection of the Museum of History and illustrated in Blake McKendry's "From the Heart" page 125. 34.5" in length, 1.25" wide. CODE-TOOL
