A cast iron Tammany Bank manufactured by the J&E Steven company. According to the New York Historical Society, this mechanical bank is said to represent the notorious Tammany Hall leader Boss Tweed pocketing illicit money. Untouched, used surface with strong remnants of original paint intact and a sliding coin trap. Patent dates June 8, 1875 & Dec. 23, 187_(?). 6" x 3.25" x 4.25". CODE-BAN
