American. Serial number 11821, circa 1867. This 18 size watch is key wind and set and has a full plate gilt movement with 11-15 jewels. Marked Chas. E. Hayward and Springfield, Mass. It has a very heavy hunter case in coin silver. Winding is through a dust cover on the back. Plain with cartouche for initials on the front but no initials. Dial has no apparent cracks or chips. Case exhibits some very minor marks on the back where one would use a knife to open it. The watch was found to be running at the time of cataloguing. It has not been tested for timekeeping accuracy and may require adjustment. Offered without reserve. CODE:POC
