Description
American. Serial number 508867, circa 1906. The watch is 18 size with a nickel, open faced, full plate movement with 21 jewels and adjusted to 5 positions. Stem wind and lever set. Marked "940", "21 jewels", Adjusted", AND "Adjusted 5 Positions", "Safety Pinion" along with "Hamilton Watch Co Lancaster, PA". This is a private label watch marked "A. Bruce Powley Edmonton, Alta" on the Canadian style railway enamel dial. It has a gold filled open face case from the Philadelphia Watch Case Co. The dial appears to have no hairlines and chips. The case shows wear, consistent with age. The inside of the back cover has two marks where the gold plating has worn away. There is a minor chip at the edge of the crystal between 8 & 9 o'clock. The watch was found to be running at the time of cataloguing. It has not been tested for timekeeping accuracy and may require adjustment. Offered without reserve. CODE:POC
