Carved wooden cane. Late 19th-early 20th century. Found in Nova Scotia. Of single piece construction, the lower portion carved with overall diamond pattern. The upper portion with carved interlaced rope design, a long spiral and terminating in a carved “turks head” knot design. Brass ferrule at foot. The wood is a close-grained hardwood, possibly birch or maple. Together with a custom-made stand of ash, finished in dark stain. Cane 35" (l). CODE:FOL
