Description
Natural cotton. Jacquard coverlet is attributed to Edward Graf, Welland County circa 1870. Overshot is attributed to Prince Edward County. See #448, page 345 "Keep Me Warm at Night". Two Ontario coverlets. The first dating to second half-19th century. In red and white in a repeating four-rose design. Cotton and wool. Fringed to three sides. Generally, in sound condition with some overall fading. Together with an overshot example, mid-19th century, in red, white and blue. Woven as two panels and sewn together along the center. Remnants of an outer border along two sides. Border missing at the foot. Otherwise in sound condition. 68 x 82" and 78 x 80". Each exhibit minor patches of scattered soil and fade. CODE:TEX
