1870-80. Natural cotton. Attributed to August Ploethner by Susan Burke of The Joseph Schneider House. See #475 on page 366 of "Keep Me Warm At Night". A Jacquard red and white coverlet, found in Waterloo County but of probable Pennsylvania origin. Third quarter 19th century. Wool and cotton. The design featuring a central medallion and a patriotic eagle and shield motif in the four corners. Fringe border to three sides. Generally in good condition. Areas of fading, most visible in lower right corner. 78 x 81". Exhibits very minor patches of soil. CODE:TEX
