Canadian. 1st quarter 19th century. Excellent original condition – a couple of shot marks – minor in use wear. The neck and head paint are crazed and may be a second coat by the maker. Frank’s stylized FAD is on the bottom. Excellent example of Frank’s “sneaking Cans”. A Dolsen clan classic. According to R. Paul Brisco in his excellent book “Waterfowl Decoys of Southwestern Ontario and the Men Who Made Them”, at least four of the Dolsen Clan made decoys: Perry – 1856-1941, Fred – 1868-1947, Frank – 1900-1981, Roger – 1911-1979. 7 1/2 x 15 x 6".
