Canadian. 1910s. Porcelain. Rare. Single-sided porcelain. Considered one of Canada's great general store porcelain signs, achieving everything a good sign should. The "Peabody's Overalls" script spans the sign, but the humour and salesmanship fills in the blanks. "Wears like a pig's nose", "Guaranteed Honorable", and "Railroad King". It features a yellow pig's head (with prominent nose) on the lower left and right corners. Central is the Peabody's "crown" trademark, symbolizing "Railroad 'King'", with script accompanying a third "pig's nose" beneath. The porcelain retains its vivid gloss with minor loss surrounding the factory mounting holes and at the extreme right edge.15 1/4 x 48". CODE:SIG
